Cabbage Soup Reset: the Concept
Originally this 'diet' was touted as a quick weight-loss scheme. Having done this a few times over the years, I think a more healthy view is to think of it as an elimination and re-introduction diet.
The soup is made of clean ingredients and is gentle--and beneficial--to the body. Every day a new food group is introduced to allow the gut and organs to heal and function more optimally.
“Reset, not Diet.”
You will more than likely find that you will loose some pounds while on this plan, but be aware that it is most likely only water weight and not true fat loss. That said, depending on your own body this plan will help reduce swelling, bloating, and likely even inflammation! Especially with the addition of healing herbs, such as turmeric, and teas to your diet over the next 7 days.
Try to refrain from coffee and any other drinks with added sugar/sweetener or added caffeine.
Lastly, it is advised to do strenuous exercise or hard workouts during this time so as not to spike cortisol. Additionally, focus on mindfulness and gentle stretching or walks. Try to get plenty of rest and be gentle with your body while on this plan.
